WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

MAYS AND RODE NAMED TO ALL-CCAA TEAM

 

San Francisco, Calif..--- SF State’s women’s basketball players Krystle Mays (Jr, G/F, Long Beach, Calif/Chatsworth HS0 and Brio Rode (Sr, F, Albuquerque, NM/Seward CC) were named to the 2008 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Basketball Team as released by the conference office this afternoon.

            Mays was a First Team selection for the Gators.  She averaged 12.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game to lead the Gators this season.  She also recorded a team high 52 steals while dishing out 47 assists and blocking 11 shots for SF State, who finished the season 14-14.  This is the third consecutive season that Mays was named to the All-CCAA Team.  She is currently in the top ten in the Gator career lists with 901 points (tenth), 584 rebounds (sixth) and 188 steals (fifth).

            Rode was a Second Team selection for SF State in her last season as a Gator.  The senior forward averaged 11.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while dishing out a team high 80 assists and connected on a team best 52 three’s.  She also made a team best 85% from the charity stripe and recorded 40 steals.  Rode finishes her career in a Gator uniform in the Gator all-time career lists with 696 points (19th) and 110 three-point field goals made (third).
