Toni West Assistant Women's Basketball Coach E-Mail: twest@sfsu.edu Phone: (415) 338-2488 Office: Gym201 San Francisco State University women's basketball coach Joaquin Wallace has announced the hiring of Antoinette “Toni” West as the Gators' top assistant coach. West comes to SF State from Las Positas College in Livermore, California, where she was the Head Women's Basketball Coach this past season. She guided Los Positas College to a 20-win season and berth in the State of California Junior College Playoffs in just the first season of the program. Prior to taking the helm of the Los Positas program, West was the assistant women's basketball coach at Delta College in Stockton, California from 2004 to 2006. While at Delta, she helped guide Delta to a conference championship, elite eight appearance and a runner-up State Championship Title. Before Delta, West as on the coaching staff at DeAnza College in Cupertino, California and prior to DeAnza she was the Head Girl's Junior Varsity Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Milpitas High School. West also has worked as a Physical Education instructor at Las Positas College and a Fitness Instructor at the Livermore Community Center in Livermore, California, as well as being a Certified Personal Trainer in San Carlos, California. She also was the 2007 Excelsior Boys and Girls Club Basketball Camp Director and has spoken and worked at numerous other summer basketball camps. The newest member to the Gator women's basketball coaching staff received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Communication Studies with a Minor in Journalism from San Jose State University in 2000. In 2005, West received her Master's of Arts Degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. |
