Joaquin Wallace is in his fourth year as the head women's basketball coach at his Alma Mater. This past season, Wallace guided the Gators to a 14-14 overall record and an 11-9 record in CCAA games. The Gators had two players selected to the All-CCAA including a First Team selection. The Gators' 11 wins in CCAA games is the most since joining the league in 1998-99.

Wallace came to SF State from Contra Costa Community College in August of 2005, where he was the Co-Head Women's Basketball Coach since April 2005. Prior to Contra Costa, he was the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Albany High School from 2003-2005.

At Albany, Wallace guided the girls to two consecutive winning seasons including its first winning season in over 30 years. Albany finished ranked in the top 10 in Division III Basketball in the State of California for the 2004-05 season and also coached four All-Conference players as well as five All-CIF Academic Team players. His two-year record at Albany was 36-20.

Prior to Albany, Wallace was the junior varsity girl's basketball coach at St. Mary's High School. He guided St. Mary's to a 22-5 record during the 2002-03 season.

Wallace received his Bachelor's of Arts in Economics from San Francisco State University in 1989, where he was on the Gator baseball team. He received his MBA in Marketing in 1995 from Golden Gate University. Wallace is currently finishing up on his Doctorate Degree from Golden Gate University.

He and his wife, Jamelle, reside in Hayward with their three children Jameelah (18), Sasha (12), and Kendall (6).
